Handwoven in Japan from igusa (Japanese rush) using traditional tatami–craft techniques. Originally designed to cradle a jar of our peanut butter, it also works beautifully as a reusable wine tote (fits most 750ml bottles), a pouch for small essentials, or a quiet accent at home.
To protect the delicate rush fibers, each piece is woven in a low-light workshop, preserving its fresh scent and natural color. Lightweight yet sturdy, it will develop a richer patina with use.
About the Artisan — Takaki Sunami
Based in Kurashiki, Okayama, Sunami continues his family’s igusa craftsmanship in small batches, blending time-honored methods with a clean, modern sensibility.
Sizes
M (2-Jar): Holds two jars of peanut butter.
L (3-Jar): Holds three jars of peanut butter.
Both sizes can also be used as a wine tote for most 750ml bottles.
Care
Keep dry; igusa is not water-resistant
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight; if damp, air-dry in the shade
Avoid heavy or sharp contents that may damage the weave
Note: Bag only. Because it is handcrafted from natural materials, slight variations in color, scent, and weave are part of its character.
